Welcome, dear reader! Strip to the skin, step up to the edge of the cliffside, and dive down into the ocean waves below. I’ve got a title reveal for you today, as well as some gorgeous character art.
News
It’s my pleasure to announce the title of my 2025 gothic fantasy romance, coming from Orbit! (Yes, this is the erotic romantasy I kept talking about and bemoaning my lack of a title for! Thank you to my favorite Lord Huron album for providing the inspiration for the final title.)
SAVAGE BLOOMS is WUTHERING HEIGHTS meets THE CRUEL PRINCE. It’s polyamorous, it’s kinky, it’s drenched in faery folklore, and it kickstarts a trilogy!
Adam has been in love with his best friend Nicola since college, but the closest he can come to admitting his feelings is inviting her to travel with him to Scotland in search of a legendary cave from his grandfather’s bedtime stories. When a storm washes out the road, Adam and Nicola find themselves at the mercy of Eileen, an eccentric aristocrat, and Finley, her brooding groundskeeper. The Americans quickly get more than they bargained for as they become entangled in Eileen and Finley’s world of mind games, kink, and ancient enchantment.
I commissioned the truly talented Isabel Burke to illustrate the four main characters, and I’m beyond in love with how it turned out!
I would be very touched if you added the book to your want-to-read list on Goodreads or Storygraph! It’s really good for my metrics and encourages my publisher to continue to support my work with strong publicity. It also helps the book find the right readers!
In addition to the above comps, you might like this book if you are a fan of: Labyrinth, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Sierra Simone’s Thornchapel series, Anne Rice’s Sleeping Beauty Quartet, the heroine’s journey to the underworld, and the Arthurian quest for the grail.
Events
I announced the tour dates for my UK tour last week (check out my Instagram to see the dates, event RSVP links will be coming soon from me in a new email!) and I also teased a US tour in the works. It’s the summer of meeting up with readers! I’ve also been booked for some really exciting podcast appearances, so I will be in your ears at the very least if you aren’t able to join us live.
Everything I’ve Been Loving Lately
I’ve been reading a mix of literary analysis of family trauma in gothic fiction and church history recently, as well as beta-reading some excellent speculative fiction for my author friends! I’m looking forward to haunting the pews of a beautiful Episcopal church on Easter Sunday, and to spending time outside this weekend getting sun on my face and saying hello to all the new flowers. I hope wherever you are, you’re taking time to mark and appreciate the changing of the seasons.
That’s all I have for you this week, dear reader! Be safe and well until we two meet again!
