Hello again. Breathe in the fragrant incense smoke and raise your voices in song. I’ve got another newsletter for you, with some seriously huge news.
News
I’ve been sitting on this for what feels like ages, but I can finally tell you that I’ve accepted a position as a subsidiary rights manager and literary agent at the Speilburg Literary Agency! This is the fruition of so many dreams and years of hard work, and I can’t believe I’m really telling you this, right here, right now. Check out my bio and manuscript wish list on the Speilburg website!
I’ll be representing adult novels and graphic novels in the genres of romance, science fiction, fantasy, and horror. I’ll also be representing religious and metaphysical nonfiction, especially with a progressive or syncretic bent. I’m not open to queries yet, but I will be soon, so keep a weather eye on the horizon for that announcement. Don’t worry, if you’re signed up to get these emails, I’ll send you a note when I open up, along with my full, juicy manuscript wish list. Some of the dream projects on it? Dark academia stories, kinky romcoms, fantastical found families, and religious horror.
If you’re just here for the writing updates, never fear! I’m not abandoning my life as a novelist, I’m just expanding into the realm of agenting. I’ve still got some awesome projects in the work with my own agent that I can’t wait to share with you soon.
Signed Copies of DOWRY Are Back in Stock
Moving on from the big news, I wanted to let you all know that signed copies of A DOWRY OF BLOOD are back in stock at Brookline Booksmith! I scribbled some quotes in a few of them as an extra treat. You can grab yours in store or online by requesting a signed copy in the comments section at checkout. I’m blown away by how you guys bought out every signed copy from the first round on the very first day they were offered, and you have my undying gratitude.
Everything I’ve Been Loving Lately
It’s been a wild ride over here with me starting a new day job in social media marketing within three weeks of joining the Speilburg Agency, but I’m hanging in there! And I’ve found something that brings me true, unfettered joy:
The What We Do In The Shadows TV Show
Okay, it’s no secret that I love vampire media, the campier the better. I wrote an entire saucy historical gothic about Dracula’s brides after all. But when I say I love What We Do In The Shadows in all its iterations, I mean love. The TV show follows a frustrated human servant trying to keep his bumbling vampire overlords (they’re roommates. In Staten Island) from getting themselves killed, and we meet a whole host of supernatural creatures in the process. The show is a dark comedy of the highest tier, and it’s so refreshing to find something that sparks absolute happiness no matter what mood I’m in. If you like Taika Waititi flicks, ridiculous gothic goodness, and laughs soaked in blood, I can’t recommend this show enough.
That’s all I have for you this week! Thank you, as always, for coming along on this roller coaster called life with me. I can’t wait to share more good news with you in the future. Until then, be so well until we two meet again.
