Welcome, all! Slip off your shoes, light a candle, and settle into a comfortable seat. I’ve got a jam-packed newsletter for you this week, so let’s get started.
News
I’ve got some great personal news to share with you, but I would be remiss not to remind you that the A DOWRY OF BLOOD audiobook comes out in two days! Grab your pre-order if you haven’t already so you can get the book in your ears the moment it drops.
Leaving Twitter
I’ve been on Twitter for what feels like an eternity, and by and large it’s treated me pretty well. It’s by far the social media platform where I have the largest audience, and it’s been an amazing resource for meeting other people in my industry. However, I’m no longer getting more out of Twitter than it takes from me. It’s a huge time suck, it’s awful for making me anxious, and the atmosphere over there has become fairly toxic, in my opinion. So as of Monday, April 19, I’ll be going updates-only! I’ll still be poking my head in every once in a while to share news and check DMs, but other than that, I’m cutting the cord. You can still find me online at Instagram, Patreon, and of course, right here in my newsletter!
Has anybody else said goodbye to the bird app?
Launching Patreon
Despite my breakup with Twitter, I wanted a dedicated corner of the internet where I could post my writerly musings, so I’m very pleased to announce that I launched a Patreon! This is where I’ll be posting monthly tarot readings for writers, WIP snippets, writing about writing, poems, mini-essays, and more, all for just $2 a month.
If you enjoyed my presence on Twitter, Patreon is the best way to stay up to date on what I’m writing and how I’m doing, and the best spot to connect with me directly and chat with me! I’m looking forward to seeing you there, should you choose to join us.
Everything I’ve Been Loving Lately
I’ve been steadily working my way through the backlist of the Wicked Wallflowers podcast recently.
It’s an awesome romance podcast hosted by amazing people that digs deep into not just romance books, but the craft of writing and the state of the romance industry writ large. They’ve interviewed agents, writers, bookstore owners, sex workers, reviewers, and more, and I always learn something new from their conversations.
That’s all I’ve got for you this week! I’m especially grateful for you all for opting into my newsletter and sticking with me through all the twists and turns of my career. I’m feeling very optimistic and hopeful about the future. As always, be safe and well until we two meet again!
