Everything I’ve Been Loving Lately
I’ve been feeling so much more like myself and so much more energized now that spring is in full swing here in Boston. I try to get out and get some sun on my face every day, weather permitting. And all that sunshine has been boosting my motivation to create as well!
Patreon
Making the move from Twitter to Patreon has been excellent for my mental health and creativity, and I love having my own little corner of the internet where I can share content. I’ve already shared a lesbian werewolf poem and a tarot reading for writers this month, and I’m currently working on a mini-essay about my discovery writing process. I’d love to see you there, should you feel so inclined. The cost of admission is $2 a month for access to poems, snippets, photos, mini-essays, tarot readings for writers, and much more.
Personal Finance Youtube
This one might seem like it’s coming out of left field, but I’ve been doing a ton of digital spring cleaning and financial sprucing-up lately, and so I’ve been returning to some of my favorite sources of money wisdom. There are some shadesters on personal finance Youtube, but I’ve found some really reliable and entertaining sources that I’m happy to share with you! My hands-down favorite is the Financial Diet, which covers everything from savings to investing to money myths to lifestyle choices, all from the perspective of living a responsible life to the fullest.
One Big Happy Life is also amazing, and the husband and wife team behind the channel share info on everything from saving for retirement, productivity, parenting, and planning for the future. I also love Aja Dang, who meticulously documented how she paid off $200,000 of debt in two years. All these channels are positive, no-nonsense, and beginner-friendly for anyone hoping to get better with money and take control of their life. I hope they’re as helpful to you as they’ve been to me!
Romcoms
Springtime is romance season in my mind, and I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole of contemporary romcoms. My two favorites this year have been WELL MET by Jen DeLuca, a heartwarming and summery renaissance faire romance with a high-strung English teacher hero, and GET A LIFE, CHLOE BROWN, the wittiest, cleverest book I’ve read all year about a woman living with chronic illness who teams up with her building supervisor to check items off her bucket list. And of course, love happens along the way.
I usually like my romances super angsty and super spicy, but I think I’ve become a believer in the power of romcoms.
That’s all I have for you this month! Thank you, as always, for reading. Be safe and well until we two meet again.
